     Pre-Entries $10/class -Post Entries $12/class 

Pre-Entries MUST be received by 9pm

WEDNESDAY before each show date.

    Horses will not be admitted without proof of Current Negative Coggins Test!!!

 

General Rules:

  • Proper tack & show attire expected unless Judge has excused jackets!  ASTM/SEI approved headgear MUST be worn & secured while mounted at all times. 
  • Any rider/spectator/handler will be asked to leave for conduct not in the interest of the show.
  • FOUR OAKS FARM, volunteers, and property owners are not responsible for accident or injury to spectators, riders, handlers.  Entry onto grounds constitutes acknowledgement of this policy.
  • VHSA Associate rules apply!
  • Riders age as of December 1, 2007.
  • Judge’s decision is final! Please do not approach the judge except by way of the show manager.
  • Show management reserves the right to combine, split, or cancel any class or division it deems necessary.
  • Year End Championships & Reserve awarded for each division at the Oct. show.
  • Points will accrue as follows:  Champion-10,  Reserve-6,  1st - 5,  2nd - 3,  3rd - 2,  4th-1
  • No dogs or alcoholic beverages allowed on show grounds!
  • Concession Stand will be available.
  • There is no shade available near the ring.  Please feel free to bring your own!
  • There will be a “For Sale” board located at the secretary’s booth, please post your ads there.
  • There will be a $25.00 fee for all returned checks.

Class Specifications

 

Leadline: Open to riders age 7 & under. To be led at the walk. No Cross Entry

Pre-Short Stirrup: Open to riders age 10 & under. Obstacles include ground poles. No cross entry into canter or jumping classes. Riders may be accompanied in the ring by adults.

Short Stirrup Hunter: Open to riders age 12 & under on horses or ponies. 4 fences at 18” Horses & Riders may only cross enter into Pleasure & non-VHSA Assoc. classes. VHSA associate division

Hunter Pleasure Pony:  Open to Ponies 14.2 hands & under in hunter tack to be ridden by junior riders only.  VHSA associate division

Pony Hunter: Open to ponies 14.2 & under ridden by junior riders only. Fences Sm. 2’, Med. 2’3”, Large 2’6” VHSA associate division

VHSA Associate Pony Equitation: Open to Junior riders on Ponies 14.2 hands & under to be shown over fences Sm. 2’, Med. 2’3”, Large 2’6” At least a ¼ of the class will return to work on the flat.

Hunter Pleasure Horse Jr.: Open to all horses in hunter tack ridden by Junior riders. VHSA associate division

Hunter Pleasure Horse Adult: Open to all horses in hunter tack ridden by Adult riders. VHSA associate division

Low Hunter: Open to all horses or ponies.  Fences 2’ or 2’6”  Adults may ride ponies.

Green Hunter:  Open to horses in their 1st or 2nd year of showing over fences. Also open to ponies 14.2 hands & under in their 1st year of showing over fences ridden by Junior riders only. Sm.2’, Med. 2’3”, Larges & Horses 2’6” will split horse/pony if 6 of each. VHSA associate division

VHSA Associate Junior/Adult Equitation: Open to Junior riders or Adult Amateurs on horses only.  Fences 2’6” At least a ¼ of the class will return to work on the flat.

 

Children’s/Adult Amateur Hunter: Open to Junior or Adult Amateur riders on horses only.  Fences 2’6”- will split if 6 of each.  VHSA associate division

Working Hunter:  Open to horses only. Fences 2’6” or 3’ VHSA associate division

California Warm Up: An unjudged warm-up class to be used one time before your division of choice. Must let in-gate person know that it is a warm-up trip & regular entry fees will apply.

Open 4-H Pleasure: Open to all 4-H members ages 9-19, judged on manners & suitability

Directions to Four Oaks Farm:

From Charlottesville:
Take I-64 east to exit 136.
Turn right off of the exit ramp onto 15 S, and proceed to the stoplight.
Turn left at light onto 250 East.
Go 1 mile and turn right onto Bybee Rd (Rt. 607)
Go 1 mile and turn right onto Bybee's Church Rd (Rt. 613)
Go @1.5 miles and turn left onto Dogwood (Rt. 631)
Four Oaks is the First Drive on the right.

From Richmond:
Take I-64 West to exit 136.
Turn left off of the exit ramp onto 15 South.
Proceed to stoplight.
Turn left at light onto 250 East.
Follow directions from above.

From Farmville:
Take 15 North through the town of Palmyra.
Pass Camp Friendship (will be on your left)
Take the next road to the right, Bybee's Church Rd. (Rt. 613).
Go 4 miles and turn right onto Dogwood Lane (Rt. 631)
Four Oaks is the First Drive on the right.
